Regular COVID-19 Testing Protects Everyone

Regular testing, in addition to COVID-19 vaccination, is a safe, effective way to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Testing helps keep schools open for in-person learning. Many people with COVID-19, especially children and teens, remain asymptomatic but can still spread the virus. Regular testing helps find people who are carriers before it can spread to others. This is especially important for children who are not yet vaccinated against COVID-19, families, and staff with younger children at home, and others not vaccinated against COVID-19 or are otherwise at risk for getting seriously sick from ...an infection. Detecting who has the virus early means steps can be taken to prevent COVID-19 from spreading and causing an outbreak, so schools can stay open and staff can remain safe. Regular testing also means parents or guardians get notified if their child tests positive, allowing them to plan for treatment and take steps to protect the rest of the family from COVID-19. COVID-19 Tests are Quick and Easy

The tests are at no cost to residents or staff provided certain conditions are met. They can be administered quickly in a painless manner and will tell if residents or staff are infected.

Trilab Health remains compliant in its testing by ensuring that all staff have consented to testing and provided a HIPAA release of results to the institution. Students that do not have parent or guardian consent for testing will not be tested.

If a Resident or Staff Member Tests Positive

If someone at a Long-Term care facility tests positive for COVID-19, they will be notified directly by the lab. Anyone who tests positive may be contacted by the State Health Department to determine who they have come in contact with so those who have been exposed can be notified. Regular testing and monitoring will prevent an outbreak and keep Long-Term care facilities safe.
